Tom and Alba's Xanadu

   In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
     A stately pleasure dome decree:
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
         Through caverns measureless to man
           Down to a sunless sea.

Everyone's been asking for pictures of our new home, so here's a photo album for all of you.

Pictures really just don't do justice to the view. The property is about 1000 feet up and 6 miles from the beach. You can see the North Atlantic from the pool and deck, the living room, kitchen, my office, bedrooms, and even the master bath. You can even hear the surf from here!

It's very secluded, too. It's at the end of a bluff, at the end of 5 minutes of a horrible rock path, off 15 minutes of poor gravel road.
My wife, Alba, it must be noted loved the house but hated the place - at first anyway. She's Dominican and Dominicans hate solitude. She'd only be truly happy here if there were a dozen houses each with a dozen people inside all within 50 feet of the front door! At least that's what I think she said. She doesn't speak English, just Spanish. And while everybody seems to understand my Spanish just fine, I still get lost sometimes listening!

But, she eventually saw how much I hate the noise of our house in the city. So now she's very happy that she has her 'boyfriend' back now that I spend most of my time here at Xanadu with her, our newborn baby girl (born April 1, 2002), and the one and three year olds.

View From the Pool Deck Looking Toward the House

Yes, this is a tease. You'll actually have to click on the links above to see the house! The name's been changed to protect the innocent. No actually I figured if I paid all that money for it, the property at least ought to have a name that I chose for it!
